Philippa Ward

Hi, I’m Philippa Ward, External & ESG Communications Manager in the Corporate Affairs team

"I love the fact my role gives me the opportunity to focus on issues that are important to me personally."

I look after external communications, corporate reputation and PR, as well as social media and communications relating to our work on our ESG (Environment, Social and Governance).

I’ve been at Teva for nearly 20 years, starting on a temporary short-term maternity cover contract back in 2005. I’ve had a few different jobs in that time, working on similar roles but with a slightly different focus. Initially, I mainly worked on internal communications, before moving into a more external-facing role focusing on corporate reputation. I then spent a few years in government affairs, navigating the impact of Brexit on our industry.

I’m back in corporate affairs now and love the fact my role gives me the opportunity to focus on issues that are important to me personally. The “S” of ESG is something that really interests me, and I get to be involved in some great projects that align with my own personal values, like volunteering with charitable organisations, building relations with the local community, and also telling the patient story. As a parent-carer, this is something that resonates with me hugely, and I feel really lucky to be able to bring that passion to my day job.

Teva appreciates that every employee’s experience is different and really encourages a healthy work/life balance, through a wide range of policies.

As a parent-carer, navigating the corporate world can be tricky, but I’ve only ever felt supported at Teva. It’s a company that appreciates that every employee’s experience is different and really encourages a healthy work/life balance through a wide range of policies and initiatives. A big emphasis is placed on those of us who are experiencing life as a carer – be that caring for a parent, child or partner – and Teva’s Circles of Care programme is a great example of how we are encouraged to connect and share our personal experiences.

I’m also proud to be part of a company that truly values diversity. That’s why I’ve joined our new Inclusion and Diversity group, which aims to give people from a wide range of backgrounds a stronger voice within the organisation. As the parent of a disabled child, it’s another great Teva way for helping me to feel included.
