Our history

We've been around longer than the NHS, and that's going back a long way!

  • We can trace our UK history back to Yorkshire in the 1930s when we were known as APS, or Approved Prescription Services.
  • In 1996 APS Berk was acquired by Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. For Teva this represented a valuable entry into the UK market.
  • In 2004 we changed our name to Teva.
  • Teva has acquired a number of businesses over the years, bringing together expertise in innovative and branded medicines, as well as generic medicines.

Our growth has continued with the acquisitions of ratiopharm, Cephalon, NuPathe, Auspex, Rimsa and Actavis Generics (amongst others), bringing many innovative and branded products to Teva's range.

Our future looks bright

We are looking at healthcare options that are fit for the future, like new technologies, innovative devices, and a fresh approach to services. We are partnering with technology, digital and e-health companies to help make treatment options that are fit for the future
