They took on their toughest physical challenge yet – peddling their way up and down the formidable peaks of the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales on a 200 mile bike ride between 16-18 June. The circuit started and finished in Penrith and saw them climb an impressive 5,500m.
They are raising funds for a great cause - the Teva Runcorn site's chosen charity of the year: Halton Haven Hospice
We heard from one of them mid-way through the epic adventure, he said:
“After 68 miles and nearly 5000 feet climbed, into a pretty stern headwind, we were pretty tired; we’ve got to be honest. This morning, everyone is ready and raring to go for day two (Erm, kind of!)”
Late Sunday - despite the heat wave - they passed the finishing line and completed 200 miles across the Lakes and Dales. They dug deep and powered through the aches and pains, inspired by the patients they will be helping at Halton Haven Hospice.
To date the team have raised over £1000 for this very worthy cause and we’re incredibly proud of their achievement.
