Respiratory Nurses and GP Clinical Pharmacists Joined the Teva and Education for Health National Respiratory Conference in Leicester. The conference was designed to support education and learning for Respiratory Nurses in an innovative and different way and attracted over 160 delegates to the two day event.
The programme showcased expert speakers sharing knowledge and best practice, along with a selection of workshops to enable peer to peer discussion. Delegates heard from experts in the respiratory field who shared their extensive experience based on real-life patient case studies.
Delegates participated fully during the various sessions, which ranged from ‘question time events’ where live responses were shared on our interactive wall, to formal presentations and workshops along with a new twist on debating verbal tweet session in which each speaker had 140 seconds to comment on the theme of ‘Driving Change’.
The programme included really practical sessions enabling respiratory nurses to take the knowledge back into day-to-day practice to make a real difference with patients.
As Monica Fletcher, CEO Education for Health said
Knowledge means very little if we do not apply it. This conference was all about doing just that- taking the knowledge back into day-to-day practice to make a real difference in the lives of respiratory patients.
Online education resources
We have also worked with Education for Health to create a free online educational resource called ‘the Respiratory Education and Learning (REAL) Respiratory clinic’. Developed to reflect the types of patients seen in clinical practice, it uses interactive and realistic case studies to assist respiratory nurses in managing consultations better.
