How we get our medicines to patients

Patients all across the UK rely on Teva for their medicines. We take that responsibility very seriously.

From packaging to distribution, all through our supply chain, we're focused on making our medicines accessible to healthcare professionals and ultimately onto patients.

Many of our generic medicines arrive in bulk at our packaging centre in Eastbourne where they are packed into blister packaging, and sent to our distribution centre, Ridings Point, in West Yorkshire. Other products, such as our branded medicines are delivered directly to our distribution centre.

Teva's own advanced automated distribution centre

The Ridings Point distribution centre is full of every kind of automated technology you’d expect from an organisation the size of Teva.  Its modern systems make sure our medicine packs, shrink wraps, boxes and pallets arrive safely with the pharmaceutical wholesaler and ultimately get to patients via pharmacies, hospitals and dispensing practices.

With 25,000 storage spaces, it’s an impressive sight. It was built to the highest pharmaceutical standards of Good Manufacturing Practice, and Good Distribution Practice, and it shows.

Wholesalers and pharmacies

Every working day we supply our wholesale partners with the products they have ordered from us.  Wholesalers act as the link between manufacturers and doctors, pharmacists and hospitals, taking delivery of medicines; storing them safely and securely until they are needed by customers; then delivering them, as required, quickly and efficiently to wherever they are needed by patients.

You may collect your prescription in a pharmacy, or you may have been given your medication whilst you were in hospital.

You can recognise our generic products from their distinctive packaging. We're really proud of our award-winning generics packaging. It's known as Teva 360 and was designed to reduce the risk of dispensing errors and make it easy for patients and healthcare professionals to identify the right medicine.
