Teva's Respiratory business has proudly sponsored the inaugural Respiratory Project of the Year which recognises pharmacists who are working to improve outcomes for patients living with respiratory conditions.
The annual awards ceremony was held at the Hilton Hotel, Glasgow in November and recognises and rewards exceptional pharmacists working in the pharmacy community.
Mark Osborne, Senior Director, Head of Primary Care, Teva, presented the Respiratory Project of the Year award in recognition of outstanding, innovative respiratory projects.
Sally Hughes, Integrated Healthcare Manager, said:“We are delighted to be involved in these prestigious awards which support outstanding patient care in Scotland. Teva Respiratory is committed to being a long term key partner to NHS organisations where we work collaboratively to improve health outcomes for patients with asthma and COPD in Scotland.”
The award was won by Bernadette (Berni) Brown of Cadham Pharmacy, Glenrothes, Fife.
Sally said: “Berni is passionate about patient care. Cadham Pharmacy is a family business which has won numerous awards and Berni was a very deserving winner. Congratulations to all her team.”
The award was judged by a respected panel of senior pharmacists who recognise that pharmacists are in a pivotal position to contribute to the overall management of patients with respiratory disease.
Judges found that the winning team had aimed to ‘provide accessible respiratory clinics with highly skilled pharmacists/nurse independent prescriber in the community pharmacy setting which will improve patients’ healthcare outcomes and relieve the burden on the primary care setting’.
