Migraine

Migraine can have an enormous impact on your work, family and social life. Getting through the day requires great effort and is filled with challenges.
The complex nature of migraine means that the experience and symptoms are varied and differ from person to person. Unfortunately, there is currently no cure for migraine.
Migraine is the most common neurological condition in the world, affecting about 12–15% of people. It is estimated that there are currently more than a billion people with migraine on the planet, that's one in seven people. 01 It is three times more common in women than it is in men and is usually inherited.01
It is a very individual condition. Some people experience only one or two attacks per year while others suffer on a weekly basis. An attack can last from four to 72 hours. 02
It is estimated that in the UK there are 10 million people suffering from migraine, and 190,000 migraine attacks experienced every day.01
We know that migraine places a significant financial impact on the NHS; more needs to be done to improve the lives of people affected by migraine, and to work towards its prevention and eradication.
We are committed to studying and understanding neurological disorders like migraine so that we can find molecules that allow us to change the course of disease. We are also focused on innovation to help patients safely and effectively manage migraine and its associated symptoms, which can severely affect their quality of life.
Migraine can be a challenging condition to live with but new treatments have considerably improved the quality of life of people with the condition.
Migraine: more than just a headache
When you’re diagnosed with migraine, life as you knew it may be limited, but with the right attitude, medical guidance and support, migraine can be managed. Teva provides additional patient support programmes for patients prescribed Teva medications for migraine.
Migraine is more than just a headache but a debilitating condition, which is often poorly understood by the wider public. We’re campaigning to create a better awareness of the condition and encourage those with migraine to seek professional support.
What’s it like to be a migraine patient in the UK today?
We recently surveyed more than a thousand patients with migraine in the UK alongside thousands of others across Europe, and the results were stark. They highlight the effect migraine can have on patients, their family and their social life.
There was widespread agreement that migraine has an impact on almost every aspect of their lives, with the survey highlighting the significant burden on family and children. 03
