Adam Karran

Hi, I'm Adam Karran, Associate Director, Digital Operations & Marketing Automation

“Teva cares for its employees and their families”

I feel really lucky to work for Teva. I’ve been here for around 20 years, but every day is different and a learning experience – that’s why I enjoy working for the company so much. It’s constantly moving forward and no two days are the same.

I started here in IT before moving into the Marketing department for about eight years working on lots of different projects. I now work in the newly formed Digital department, and a big part of my role has been developing Teva’s eCommerce website, as well as the adoption of marketing automation and customer journeys.

The eCommerce website is a self-service portal; pharmacies and dispensing doctors use the site a bit like they would use Amazon - to place orders for products, or an online banking platform  - to see what they’ve spent and to manage their spend levels and access statements.

We're working on a recommendation engine, to predict what a customer might want to purchase from us. Customers will be given bespoke product recommendations to enhance their buying behaviour on the site, whether that be to reach their spend targets or to use a full basket recommendation.

Our digital tools are not just about trying to sell products – it’s about making things easier for our customers and maximizing the customers experience on the site.

Working in a digital role, you can’t stand still; there's always something new on the horizon

Teva recognises this and is pushing digital transformation in a big way, and that’s something I’m really excited by. No other pharmaceutical manufacturer is providing a recommendation engine, so this is ground-breaking for the industry.

Throughout my time here, I’ve been provided with lots of training and courses to help me push forward in my career. From Product Owner certificates to Business Analysis Practice courses, I've had so many opportunities for professional learning as well as on the job experiences that build your knowledge.

Teva also cares for its employees and their families. My partner and I have had two children whilst I've been working at Teva and the benefits here are great. For example, Standard Paternity Leave is two weeks’ leave, but here at Teva you get six weeks’ paid paternity leave – which you don’t have to take all at once – and you can also take an additional 12 weeks unpaid leave. That’s a massive plus for me; it’s great to be able to spend some quality time with my family, especially in those early years.

We also benefit from flexible working and hybrid working (working from home and from the office), so that work-life balance is really great at Teva.
