Driving the next chapter of neuroscience
At Teva, we are focused on tackling some of the most complex and urgent challenges in neuroscience today.
For over 120 years, we have been a different kind of biopharmaceutical company, working across the full spectrum of innovation to better health worldwide. In neuroscience, our ambition is clear: to translate science into meaningful outcomes, helping improve independence and quality of life for people living with neurological
and mental health conditions.
Our focus areas in neuroscience
We translate scientific breakthroughs into medicines, advancing solutions across severe mental illness, migraine, and neurodegenerative disorders with scale, speed, and precision. Because we know outcomes matter. And we believe the true measure of innovation is not just in the molecule, but in the fuller life, hope and future it makes possible.
We develop medicines not only for conditions, but for the people living with them. That is why we are committed to supporting and helping improve care across the patient journey, from diagnosis through to long-term management.

Severe mental illness
Our neuroscience research explores the biological and neurological processes behind schizophrenia and related disorders, advancing deeper understanding to support better care and outcomes.

Migraine
Discover the neurological processes behind migraine - a complex condition marked by recurrent episodes and a range of sensory symptoms that can significantly impact daily life.
Our heritage and ambitions in neuroscience
We contribute to UK scientific research through collaborative partnerships, while our scale enables resilient manufacturing and a stable supply of medicines across the UK.
Manufacturing, supply and innovation in the UK

As one of the largest suppliers of medicines to the NHS, we’re proud to improve the lives of millions of patients across the UK, including those with neurological and psychiatric conditions. We play an important role in delivering value to the NHS, leveraging our global size and strength to continually meet the needs of UK patients, providing resilient manufacture and supply of medicines. 01
At Teva UK, our teams contribute specialist research and development expertise to our global neuroscience work, including device development, human factors testing and collaboration with international scientific, technical and regulatory colleagues. From our Abbots Park site in Runcorn, we help advance patient-focused innovation that considers how medicines are prepared, administered and experienced in clinical practice. This commitment extends across the patient journey, with over 700,000 doses of mental health medicine leaving Teva's UK warehouses every day, helping support people living with serious and long-term conditions. 02
Why neuroscience matters now
Around 16.5 million people in the UK, one in six, live with a neurological condition with many facing challenges that affect their wellbeing and quality of life. 03 At Teva UK, we are working to change this. As neuroscience enters a renaissance, advances in disease understanding, new therapeutic targets and better tools to measure outcomes. New possibilities to improve care and outcomes for people living with neurological conditions.
Mental health is becoming increasingly common across the UK. Around one in four people experience a mental health problem each year 04, and the latest national survey shows that 22.6% of adults in England are living with a common mental health condition such as anxiety or depression - up from 18.9% in 2014. 05 This growing need highlights the importance of improving awareness, support and access to mental health care.

Collaborating with the NHS to improve patient care
We work with NHS organisations at national, regional, and local level, focusing on improving patient outcomes by supporting developments in healthcare delivery.
We aim to move beyond a transactional relationship with the NHS, fostering a more consultative, problem-solving partnership that supports better care in shared priority areas. Through collaborative and joint working projects including migraine, we work closely with the NHS to drive meaningful impact.

Better outcomes start with seeing the person, not just the diagnosis
In neuroscience, barriers are both scientific and societal. Delayed diagnosis, persistent stigma, and treatment models that fail to reflect the clinical and human complexities of these conditions continue to limit access to care for people living with the disease and their carers. This delays support, disrupts care, and restricts participation in society.

Our commitment to neurodiversity

Creating a workplace where neurodivergent colleagues can thrive
Teva UK is proud to have achieved a Bronze Award from Autistica’s Neurodiversity Employers Index (NDEI®) in 2024, an evidence-based framework that helps organisations understand how effectively they recruit, support, and retain neurodivergent employees.

Creating a workplace where neurodivergent colleagues can thrive
Building on this commitment, our 2025 Healthy Future Progress Report highlights the steps Teva is taking to support the health of people, the planet and our business, including the launch of a UK-specific Neurodiversity Training in the Workplace programme to promote greater understanding, inclusion and support for neurodivergent colleagues.
