Why Menopause Support Matters at Teva UK

Menopause is a stage of life that many colleagues will experience either themselves or through supporting those close to them.
Some will recognise symptoms early. Others might not realise the changes they are feeling are linked to menopause. What matters is that no one navigates this alone. At Teva UK, we want every colleague to feel informed, supported and heard.
Over the last few years we have made steady progress in strengthening our approach. We have listened to feedback and built support that is practical, accessible and respectful of individual needs.
Providing Clinical Expertise and Practical Workplace Support
One of the most important steps has been giving colleagues access to specialist clinical care. Through the Bupa Menopause Plan, employees speak with GPs who have trained specifically in menopause. These appointments give personalised guidance and help colleagues understand symptoms and treatment options. This service has made a clear difference to employees who wanted expert advice and reassurance.
We have invested in manager training so leaders feel confident in offering support. They learn how menopause affects people in different ways and how to create space for honest discussion. The feedback from managers, including male managers, has shown how valuable this has been for building trust and understanding across teams.
We have also strengthened the resources available on our intranet platform, myteva. Colleagues can explore clear guidance, videos and signposting to support. Employee stories help others feel understood and encourage open conversation.
Practical support matters too. Flexible working helps colleagues balance work with appointments and symptom management. Free sanitary products are available at all our sites. We have worked with Organic Mondays so products are accessible and environmentally responsible. This partnership reflects Teva’s commitment to sustainability, ensuring we prioritise both the wellbeing of our colleagues and the health of our planet.
Normalising Conversations and Strengthening Our Wellbeing Approach
Normalising these conversations has been essential. By sharing educational content and recognising key awareness days such as World Menopause Day, we help reduce stigma and encourage colleagues to speak openly about their experiences. This creates a healthier culture where colleagues know support is available and where questions are welcome.
I am proud of the progress we have made at Teva UK. I am also proud that our work has been recognised externally, such as being nominated for best benefits to support menopause at the Employee Benefits Awards reflecting the commitment of many colleagues who helped shape our approach.
Our focus now is to keep improving. We will continue to listen, adapt our support and make sure menopause remains part of our wider wellbeing strategy.
Every colleague deserves to feel supported throughout their working life. Our commitment is to provide the guidance, care and flexibility that make this possible.
